Ceremony
NZ law has no requirements regarding the format of your marriage ceremony,
other than that each of you must say to the other, "I _____ take
you _____ to be my legal husband (or wife) or words to this effect.
In other words, apart from the signing of the register, the law requires only the saying of a simple vow to make the marriage legal.

Many Church Clergy and independent Civil Marriage Celebrants are prepared to work with you to personalise your ceremony. In most cases we will arrange for the Celebrant or Minister who will be conducting your wedding ceremony to communicate with you via email prior to your wedding to put your ceremony together. Please feel free to include any personal touches, readings or poems.
