Tekapo - Church of the Good Shepherd Wedding
The mountain ranges of the Southern Alps and the striking turquoise colour of Lake Tekapo make a spectacular background for this small stone church.
Inside, the large panoramic window behind the altar affords breathtaking views. Clear skies, clean mountain air and the warm hospitality of the township's people are just a few reasons to choose this remarkable venue, only three hours drive south from Christchurch.
The Church of the Good Shepherd is available for legal marriage ceremonies only, not for blessings or re-affirmation celebrations. Civil ceremonies conducted by a Celebrant/Justice of the Peace are not permitted.
The church is a very popular stop for most coach tours which is why ceremonies are held before and after the lunchtime rush of tours (11.30am to 2.30pm). The local community also uses the church at the weekends.
